Closing a sale is like striking a fish. If you strike too quickly, you’ll scare the fish away.
If you wait too long, the fish will swim away with your bait.
Knowing when to strike is a skill that you develop over time. It takes practice. You need to pitch lots of customers, and be rejected by lots of customers.
Better to strike to early than let the fish swim away. Better to get a “No”, than to let the customer wriggle off the hook.
Eventually you’ll develop an instinct for when to strike, and that’s when you’ll start closing deals.
Until then, you’ll lose a lot of fish.
