Don’t become attached to external things

Don’t become attached to outside stuff. Attachment makes you vulnerable.

Instead of saying, “Please let me win this deal”, say “Please let me be free of the need to win this deal.”

If you lose the “need”, you won’t be desperate. It’s easier to sell when the customer knows you’re not desperate.

It’s easier to sell if you know you don’t need to succeed.

The external things in your life are not you.

If you lose the deal, or your car, or your job, or whatever, it doesn’t change you. It can’t hurt you.

Only if you become attached to things like reputation, assets, health, do they have the power to hurt you.

Care passionately for what you do, but don’t become attached.
