It takes guts to be an entrepreneur. You must overcome the fear of failure, the fear of embarrassment, the fear of pain.
You don’t need courage if you don’t feel fear. The fearless are not worthy copying. They have no courage.
Rather copy the cowards that have overcome their cowardice.
You need three kinds of courage:
- The courage to follow
Its easy to go your own way, it’s a lot harder to throw your lot in with someone else. Sometimes you need the guts to get on someone else’s ship and trust they won’t drive you straight into an iceberg.
- The courage to fight
Fighting with fists or with lawyers is not for sissies.
Conchis said it best, “If a person is intelligent, then of course he is either atheist or agnostic. Just as he is a physical coward. These are automatic definitions of high intelligence.”
It takes guts to get into a fight when you have the brains to realise that everyone loses, even if you win.
- The courage to lead
Its easy to go it on your own, to reject responsibility for others. It takes guts to take on partners and employees, just like it takes guts to have children.
Being responsible for others takes courage.
