Delay big decisions that are not urgent

  • By Alan Knott-Craig

If you’re faced with a big decision and you’re not sure what to do, ask yourself: “Is this urgent?”

If its not urgent, kick the can down the road.

Stall, delay, play for time. Don’t be forced into an important decision unless you feel comfortable, or there is urgency.

If there is urgency, you have no choice: Make the call.

If it’s the wrong call, change your mind.

The trick is to not slow the machine that is your startup. Never be the one who slows the machine.

If you move slowly, you’ll fail. But sometimes the wrong decision can kill your business too.

If you’re not comfortable with a big decision, delay until it’s urgent.
