This is the way trust works:
There’s a baseline.
That line can be defined as keeping promises, or telling the truth, or loyalty.
When you go under the line, there’s no coming back. Trust cannot be restored.
All relationships start above the baseline, and build upwards. Along the way promises are broken, or lies are told, or loyalty is questioned.
Trust will fall, but the relationship will remain intact as long as the total trust remains above the baseline.
If the baseline is breached, the relationship of trust is over. No going back.
Keep your promises. Tell the truth. Be loyal.
Stay above the baseline.
