Its easy to think  startup life is an “adventure.”

Its like watching a man on a camel cross the desert. For onlookers, it is entertaining.

Far less entertaining for the actual man on the camel travelling at two miles per hour in blistering sun and blowing sand.

To the onlooker, if the adventure ends with success, it is romantic. If not, it is tragic. Either way, it doesn’t impact the onlooker’s life.

To the man on the camel, the startup entrepreneur, the “adventure” IS his life. Success results in financial freedom. Failure results in personal devastation. Its not romantic, or tragic.

Its just real.

Don’t romanticize the journey.

Startup life is not an adventure. Its a man on a camel crossing the desert.
