Blaise Pascal was a famous mathematician who pioneered probability theory.
One of his legacies is Pascal’s Wager, which posits that it makes sense to believe in God simply because you have something to gain if he does exist, and nothing to gain if he doesn’t.
Whereas if you choose to be an atheist, you have nothing to gain by being right, and everything to lose by being wrong (ie: die, and find yourself in Heaven with the label “atheist.”)
You can apply the same logic to your business.
If you have decided to give something a go, then give it a 100% go.
If you retain a sense of doubt, you might find success, but you’ll not enjoy the ride.
You’ll be paranoid the whole way, which not only will lower your odds of success, but will make you unhappy.
That’s not the point of being entrepreneur, or life.
Failure feels the same, regardless of whether you’re a pessimist or optimist.
Rather be optimistic. It’s more fun.
