If you haven’t read Ben Horowitz’s, The Hard Thing About Hard Things, then you’re wasting time.
Stop whatever you’re doing. Read it.
One of Ben’s pieces of advice is to do all the unpleasant stuff in one go.
Retrenching? Don’t do it piecemeal. Get rid of everyone in one go.
Writing off assets? Don’t do it piecemeal. Take the max write-off in one go.
Breaking bad news for shareholders? Don’t do it piecemeal. Give it all in one go.
If you’re going to do some painful, don’t drag it out.
If you’re going to eat shit, don’t nibble.
