Avarice, the sin

The famous painting, Dante’s Inferno, illustrates Greed as one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

“Greed” is a bit confusing because it can be construed to include behaviour like over-eating.

For example: The man in Monty Python who accepts O’Leary’s “one last mint” wager and then explodes.

That’s not what Dante was talking about.

Greed, the deadly sin, is the desire for more material, more power, more money.

Greed, the deadly sin, is avarice.

Avarice leads to failure.

Beware.
