If you want to make a donkey walk into a barn, you can do one of two things:

Push/pull him into the barn. Good luck with that.

Or, give him a taste of a carrot, then hold a carrot in front of him, towards the barn.

If you’re trying to get someone to do something, it’s better to use the carrot method.

Arouse an eager want in the other person.
