Have you ever felt frustrated that your boss is not making a decision? It’s an emergency, action is desperately needed, and yet the chief procrastinates.
You start thinking she’s consciously trying to make things worse. She’s malicious. She’s out to get you.
Hold on.
Inaction is usually a function of either incompetence or cowardice.
If the boss is out of her depth, she won’t make a decision simply because she has no idea what the right decision is.
On the other hand, even the most competent boss will not make a decision if she’s a coward.
Either way, no one is out to get you.
If you need action, do it yourself. If you can’t do it yourself, get your chief to do it. If your chief won’t do it, change your chief.
If you can’t change your chief, change your company.
Keep moving.
