We all have a friend who works damn hard. You can just ask him, because he’ll tell you.
Blah blah blah. Toughen up. Everyone works hard, everyone makes sacrifices, everyone puts in the hours. Who cares if people think you work hard.
The only thing that matters is that you deliver the goods. Sometimes that means getting up at 4am, sometimes it means working 80hr weeks, sometimes it means being on the road for months at a time.
Toughen up. Don’t complain, don’t fish for compliments or commiseration, don’t make a big deal about it.
When you’re working hard you should behave the same as when you’re on holiday. “Never been better!”
So what if some people think you’re lazy or you have it easy. It doesn’t matter what people say. It only matters what people do.
The appearance of working hard is used as a crutch. As a disguise for not delivering the goods. “But I put in the hours, its not my fault the deal didn’t come through.”
No one cares. When you’re an entrepreneur no one will bail you out. Whether you put in the hours or not, there is no mercy. No mitigating circumstances. If you don’t deliver the goods, you fail.
Its easy to make it look hard. It takes a lot of effort to make it look effortless.
Entrepreneurs make it look easy.
