Entrepreneurs are debt collectors

entrepreneur debt

Collecting cash usually entails endless calls, fighting over the phone, legal proceedings, and general bad energy.

Most people don’t like it.

It’s the kind of thing that’s easy to avoid. Especially if its not your cash.

If you work for a company, then debt-collecting is something you delegate or procrastinate.

Like taking out the rubbish or cleaning the floors.

But if its your money then you do it. Straight away.

Every morning you wake up and ask yourself who owes you money, and you chase it. There’s no room for feeling sorry for people, for delaying till tomorrow, for being a pansy.

An entrepreneur knows that no one else will make make sure there is cash in the bank for salaries. She knows she has to collect her cash.

If its your money, you’re the debt-collector.
